On this trek to Everest Base Camp you  tread in the footsteps of some of Nepal’s earliest adventurers such as Sir Edmond Hillary. It is a strenuous and challenging trek which allows you to interact with the people and gain experience of the rich and diverse cultures of those who live in Solu, before heading into Khumbu for the spectacular mountain views. Solu is a worthwhile destination in its own right.

Day 01: Arrive at Kathmandu Airport, transfer to hotel.
Day 02: Kathmandu to Jiri by tourist bus or 4 wheel drive. This takes approximately 8-9 hours.
Day 03: Jiri (1955m) to Shivalaya (1770m) (4-5 hours). This is a fairly gentle walk.
Day 04: Shivalaya to Bhandar (2190m) (5-6hours)After a steep climb out of Shivalaya we enjoy walking along the middle of the valley where we can see terraces and agricultural villages.
Day 05: Bhandar to Sete (5-6hours)
Day 06: Sete to Junbesi (2700m) (6-hours) We walk over the Lamjura Pass (3530m)
Day 07: Jumbesi to Nunthala (2330m) (7-hours)
Day 08: Nunthala to Bupsa (6-hours)
Day 09: Bupsa to Surke (2290m) (6-hours)
Day 10: Surke to Phakding (2610m) (5-6hours)
Day 11: Phakding to Namche (3440m) (5-6hours)
Day 12: Namche to Tengboche (3860m) (5-6hours)
Day 13: Tengboche to Dingboche (4410m) (5-6hours)
Day 14: Rest day.
Day 15: Dingboche to Lobuche (4970m) (5-6hours)
Day 16: Lobuche to Gorak Shep (5140m). ( 5 hours) After lunch we then walk to Everest Base Camp (5364m)
Day 17: Gorak Shep to Thukla (4620m). (4 hours) We have an early morning rise to climb Kalla Patthar (5550m)
Day 18: Thukla to Tengboche ( (5-6hours)
Day 19: Tengboche to Namche Bazaar (4-hours)
Day 20: Namche Bazaar to Lukla (7-hours)
Day 21: Flight to Kathmandu.
Day 21: International flight home.

The price covers the following services:

  1. Hotel accommodation in Kathmandu on a bed and breakfast basis.
  2. Three meals a day (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner) with hot beverage and snacks whilst on trek.
  3. Tea house accommodation whilst on trek.
  4. Sagarmatha National Park permit, Climbing permits.
  5. Domestic airfare (Kathmandu – Lukla – Kathmandu).
  6. Domestic airport tax.
  7. An experienced English speaking climbing guide, or where possible language of your choice trained and licenced by the Government of Nepal, Ministry of Tourism & Civil Aviation. Climbing guide equipment.
  8. Hire of climbing equipment.
  9. Highly experienced well equipped trekking porter.
  10. Staff food, accommodation, clothing, salary & insurance.
  11. All necessary ground transportation.
  12. Airport transfers.

The price does not cover the following services

  1. Meals in Kathmandu. Extra hotel nights.

  4. Your Travel Insurance, helicopter rescue and cover for any other adventurous activities that you may take part in.

This is a very strenuous trek. You must have a good level of cardio vascular fitness.
The climb at Mera requires that you use helmet, ropes, ice axe and crampons.
We have one acclimatisation day.
Our highly experienced climbing guides will do a climbing clinic at Kare and base camp.
We are at altitude for 14 days.
